Are you D.U.M

Ok so last thursday, I went and took photos of Foreign Beggars for Diesel U Music Radio, covering for my ginger friend. Diesel have set up shop atop the Amersham Arms in New Cross,  getting a ridiculous amount of big names to play live shows for them or do pre recorded stuff to feature on the airwaves. Acts so far have included filthy dukes, Diplo, Benga and the 1965 lads to name a few. In any case, the beggars ripped it up, bringing a nice mix of hip hop, dubstep and other electronic sounds to the table, and they're a bunch of nice guys to boot. On top of that they did it a little bit of freestylin, which was ill to say the least, Orafice and Metropolis spittin fire, with Nonames chuckin in the jokes rhymes n all. Nonetheless, we all had a laugh despite the stupid heat of the tiny studio we were in. Also peep the exclusive ATG garmage the lads were sporting, crispy... So blogger wont let me upload any more pics for some reason, ah well. More images can be found at the diesel radio flickr and www.diesel.com/radio

Super Ultra (late)Metro tour blog

After a lengthy valentines hibernation with the mrs, and a whole lot of nothing goin on, thought I should get back into this thing before it dies. Went on tour with The Metros, their first headline tour to promote the release of their single Education Pt.2. Traveling the length and breadth of the country was definitely an experience, and we got to see some nice places, like edinburgh and bristol, and the grimey places, like aberdeen and exeter (not much going for them really...). I have taken hundreds of live pictures of the metros before so I tried to take as little as possible and show the tour for what it was. A laugh, a trek, a bore, a rinse and a piss up. 'It was the best of times, it was the worst of times'. Some of the best...

Lazy days...

Bit of a lazy one this weekend. Chillin with the crew on friday at hopes, so a few shots got taken. Then saturday at the new cross inn (ugh) for deadly rhythm. The last time they ever put anything on there, thank god. One of the bouncers, and that fat bellsniff who works behind the bar both try say i wasnt comin in with my passport, because it wasnt valid, despite the fact it clearly shows who i am and my date of birth. "try getting out of the country with it" Not trying to do that though am I? Im going to a bar. Knob. Officially hatin that pub now.... Thats it really, bit of a dry one for the photos.... A few shots of cobra dukes and some mates to show.... Shot everything with the leica on its black and white setting, which is fun. The first one taken by Hope.

Punks jump up to get beat down

Took photos of the police protest for better pay, a rather bland affair with barely any placards, or music, or excitement for that matter. Just a sea of white hats and sullen faced people. A few punks got arrested but other than that a fairly boring day. Had a wonder round Covent Garden afterwards and had to cop myself a fred perry polo in their sale, £16, bargain! Also bumped into Alex and James of Deadly Rhythm fame. Logos for jumper ideas are ago. Today Joe came into college, so I took a picture of him. There were image issues so Ive had to edit and resize.Thats all for now...

New Year, New start, New camera...

After the hectic  celebrations of New Years Eve and numerous encounters with other photographers and various interesting people, I thought I would start a blog, see how that goes...

Slowly settling back into a life of college normality along with work experience at the sunday times magazine a week or so ago (took a roll of film along so will post a few pictures from that once its processed). Had a look round the printing presses there, and there was no one there,  the men have been replaced by strange flat robots, save for a few. Also recently bought a new camera, the leica digilux 2. The picture quality is brilliant....
This is work in progress so slowly but surely I will add more as i take more shots, as well as posting up some old ones. Went to the opening for the new fiat 500 today, where mika and the feeling played. The corporate vibes were overwhelming. Standing in the cold and wet to get a photo of a car and some bland musicians is not my idea of fun but course deadlines must be met and all. Also a fairly hectic weekend, taking photos of Skepta and Tomb Crew for the Deadly Rhythm boys, and The Metros video shoot for education pt. 2. Had to wake up at the crack of dawn to be picked up by an old routemaster, highlights were playing football in gym shorts and vests in an abandoned school, and sitting in the bus smoking a lot to avoid the rain. Good times were had by all. I leave you with a few shots from over the last few days so until the next time...
